ProQuest Information and Learning has always been a prominent provider of newspaper content through microfilms and then CDs.

NewsUK is a simple and innovative online service designed to provide national and regional news, combining the most popular British newspaper titles in one database.

Launched in June 2004, NewsUK offers:

  • Current and recent archive UK news service from 45 titles
  • National newspapers, including the Financial Times, the Guardian, Daily Telegraph, the Times, the Observer and the Independent, all with significant backfiles.
  • NewsUK will also offer regional newspapers, from the Belfast Telegraph to the Daily Record, and from the Evening Standard to the Liverpool Echo, again with significant backfiles.
  • Finally, NewsUK will be offering news content via important journals such as The Economist, available from 1991.
  • Editorial content in the form of Topic Guides (an introduction to the issue e.g. homelessness and then a collection of relevant news stories)
  • Cross-searching with KnowUK (if both products are subscribed to).

In addition to the features mentioned above, NewsUK will offer quick links to headlines and regional news and will allow you to search by issue or topic.

NewsUK is the ideal tool to keep you up to date with day-to-day information, looking through various established newspapers and magazines giving the user an array of views and opinions on one story line or subject.
