ProQuest Learning: Literature Colleges Edition

Formerly known as Literature Online for Colleges, ProQuest Learning: Literature is a website containing an unparalleled collection of resources for the study of English and Drama. The entire service is structured around English, Welsh, Northern Irish and Scottish exam specifications and provides impressive support for GCSE anthologies.

ProQuest Learning: Literature also gives you access to Class Kits - teaching resources for English GCSE designed specifically for use on an interactive whiteboard.

This is how ProQuest Learning: Literature supports you:

  • For English literature, the site offers over 3,000 author pages giving access to biographies, original works, book reviews and criticism, and contextual multimedia to enhance the study of a text. The Poets on Screen collection offers contemporary poets giving readings of their favourite works.
  • For English language, the site contains a range of texts for different audiences, from poems and novels through to reference books, news articles and literary criticism. Multimedia texts include adverts, newsreel footage and propagandist images.
  • Drama students will find theatre reviews, images from productions, and images and video for historical background or to inspire stage design or costume.
  • Images and texts can be downloaded and manipulated on-screen for a variety of activities, or stored in a personalised Clippings File.

As with all ProQuest services, a range of linking technologies allows the seamless integration of ProQuest Learning: Literature into WebOPACs, Virtual Learning Environments or departmental intranets. ATHENS access is offered to all Colleges of Further Education.
