"The needs of the nursing community are evolving to include both traditional types of research as well as relatively new areas of study such as evidence-based health research. Despite this need, there is a lack of evidence-based content in the nursing area," said Roger Tritton, senior publisher for ProQuest. "This agreement addresses that gap and is consistent with ProQuest's goal to uncover the best content and make it easily discoverable by researchers who need it."
Three types of evidence-based information will be added to ProQuest Nursing & Allied Health Source - Evidence Summaries, Systematic Reviews, and Best Practice Information Sheets. JBI's data will be available through ProQuest Nursing & Allied Health Source, creating a unique blend of digitally aggregated journal and evidence-based content, along with full text dissertations in nursing and related fields. The JBI content is available at no charge to ProQuest Nursing & Allied Health Source subscribers. Subscribers will also have access to JBI's website which hosts additional information:
RAPid teaches students to critically appraise evidence for good nursing practice and offers them the possibility of publishing in the RAPid Library
SUMARI is a modular software package designed to help nursing academics conduct systematic health reviews using evidence-based methods
The new JBI content is scheduled to be available in ProQuest Nursing & Allied Health Source by early 2008.
