Cambridge, United Kingdom, August 21, 2009 - ProQuest is delighted to be a gold sponsor of IFLA 2009. ProQuest will address the ‘Libraries create futures: Building on cultural heritage’ theme through a number of onstand activities, as well as an important presentation on ‘New Ways to Search and Discover Content’. As gold sponsor, ProQuest will also be sponsoring the Pocket Programme and Volunteer Bibs. Mike Visser, Director of Platform Management, will be presenting on ‘New Ways to Search and Discover Content from ProQuest’ at Room Green 3, Level 1, Milano Convention Center on Monday 24th August 2009 from 2.15pm to 3pm. This announcement about developments in searching technology is significant for all information professionals and has been eagerly awaited. Please also see the press kit press release, titled, ‘ProQuest’s All-New Platform Will Redefine Search Experience’, that gives further background information on this important development. An exclusive drinks reception for delegates who attend the presentation will take place at 3pm. The location will be revealed at the presentation. Please email claudia.reyland@proquest.co.uk to book your place at this presentation. Other activities on stand 602 include twice daily product update presentations, at 10am and 2pm. Personal demonstrations of ProQuest products are also available, including demonstrations of our latest releases, The Paley Center Seminars and ProQuest Dissertations & Theses – UK & Ireland. These products will be a critical component of libraries’ digital collections, and will significantly boost ProQuest’s video and dissertations content. Delegates are invited to pick up a great giveaway when you sign up for the ProQuest newsletter, and are also invited to enter a draw to win an Apple iPod Touch. As part of ProQuest’s continued commitment to the environment, the majority of ProQuest items available on stand are made from environmentally friendly materials. This includes pencils made from recycled newspapers, pens made sustainable resources which are 100% biodegradable, FSC-approved paper bags and 512MB USB sticks made from recycled plastics. Further announcements about ProQuest’s continued commitment to the environment will be made over the coming year.
