Online. This fully integrated database provides a new look and
powerful functionality to the renowned Modern Language Association
(MLA) International Bibliographymaking millions of records instantly
accessible and fully searchable online, along with links to full text. Already offered by ProQuest as a standalone research tool, MLA is even more powerful when paired with Literature Online. An index to books and articles on modern languages and literatures, linguistics, folklore, and related topics, MLA covers literature from throughout the world. It covers more than 4,400 academic journals, indexing more than 65,000 books and articles annually for a total of more than 1.6 million records. Literature Online brings a vast array of full-text primary works (more than 350,000), criticism, and reference materials to the desktop. It is used by all 10 of the National Research Council's top-rated literature programs. From a single interface, Literature Online and its MLA module provide users with: • Single-point searching of the two premier literature indexes for research and teaching, MLA International Bibliography and the Modern Humanities Research Association's Annual Bibliography of English Language & Literature (ABELL). • Immediate access from citations in both indexes to articles from 150 full-text journals in Literature Online Even when integrated with Literature Online, the MLA module can be accessed separately when desired. Its rich resources include: Complete coverage of all date ranges, currently 1963-2004 Results sorting in either chronological or reverse-chronological order Users can search MLA or ABELL individually or cross-search them by keyword, title keyword, subject (includes all MLA subject terms), author/reviewer, publication details (including MLA Series and Publisher fields), journal, and publication year. Users can also specify all citations or limit them to books, reviews, or literary works.
