ProQuest adds newspaper content from News Limited
Divided line

CAMBRIDGE, United Kingdom, February 3, 2005 - ProQuest Information and Learning announces the addition of eight News Limited newspapers to its ProQuest Australia & New Zealand Newsstand online news service.

Central Coast Express Advocate, Centralian Advocate, Fiji Times & Sunday Times (Suva, Fiji), Gold Coast Bulletin, Papua New Guinea Post-Courier, Townsville Bulletin and Sunday Times (Perth, Western Australia) are now available within ProQuest Australia & New Zealand Newsstand.  These titles build on the extensive newspaper content already available within the collection.

Launched in June 2003, ProQuest Australia & New Zealand Newsstand combines local, national, business, sport, political, technology and entertainment news from key providers within the region, including Fairfax and Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) and of course News Limited.  A growing archive of articles for all titles is available with new material being added daily.

Michelle Harper, publisher for ProQuest said: “Our objective for ProQuest Australia & New Zealand Newsstand is to make it the most comprehensive news source in the region. With the addition of the regional News Limited titles, we are showing our customers a firm commitment to continually expanding this collection. ”

“The ProQuest Australia & New Zealand Newsstand advantage is that it allows users to access many key newspaper sources simultaneously, and combines this local newspaper content with extensive international content. We believe this will offer significant advantages to the librarian trying to provide their users with access to their preferred sources.”

ProQuest Australia & New Zealand Newsstand now features 49 news titles. The Australian, The Sydney Morning Herald, Herald Sun, The Age, Courier-Mail, The Mercury and The Advertiser  are just some of the news titles included in the collection.

ProQuest Australia & New Zealand Newsstand can be purchased on annual subscription and free 30 day trials can be arranged by contacting the ANZ sales office at sales@anz.proquest.com.
