IFLA 2004 a resounding success for ProQuest Information and Learning
Divided line

CAMBRIDGE, United Kingdom, August 30, 2004 - IFLA 2004, held this year in Buenos Aires, Argentina, was heralded a huge success by ProQuest Information and Learning.

As a major sponsor of the event, ProQuest had a strong presence at the show with the company's Latin American office taking the lead on promotional activities.

Despite only opening the office in Rio in 2003, ProQuest has already made major inroads in the provision of online information services in this South American sector.

ProQuest's growing influence in this part of the world was made more apparent by the number of visitors to the stand throughout IFLA and positive leads generated. More than 3,500 visitors walked through the doors during the four day event running August 23–26, many of which took full advantage of the offer to see ProQuest's leading online services at work and discover more about the technological breakthroughs being pioneered by the company.

"IFLA was the perfect showcase for our operation in Latin America, run from our office in Rio which opened in 2003,” vice-president of sales and marketing international, Simon Beale says.

"ProQuest yielded tremendous success, not only in the high volume of visitors to our stand, but in the quality of both local and international leads generated. I believe we successfully achieved our objective to raise ProQuest's profile in this growing market. We are already seeing the positive results following up a significant quantity of quality enquiries.”
