CAMBRIDGE, United Kingdom, December 7, 2004 - ProQuest Information and Learning announced the addition of dozens of significant journal titles from publishers Hodder Arnold Journals, Mary Ann Liebert, Springer Science+Business Media, and John Wiley & Sons, Inc. The new agreements will greatly expand ProQuest's electronic offerings in medical and science research databases. ProQuest Information and Learning, a unit of ProQuest Company, creates and publishes databases for libraries and educational institutions worldwide.

The new content includes 40 titles from Springer Science & Business Media, 19 titles from Hodder Arnold Journals , seven titles from Mary Ann Liebert, and three titles from Wiley. The new titles will appear in ProQuest's range of medical databases, including ProQuest Medical Library™ and ProQuest Health & Medical Complete™.

"The new titles significantly expand the breadth of ProQuest's health and medical resources. The journals are especially appropriate for the people who use ProQuest® for their research. Like our agreements earlier this year with Springer New York, New England Journal of Medicine, and Karger Publishers, these new agreements propel ProQuest's selection of high-quality, well-respected content even higher,” said Suzanne BeDell, vice president, higher education publishing, ProQuest Information and Learning.

Key Springer Science+Business Media titles include: Dysphagia, Diseases of the Colon and Rectum, Diabetologia, and Osteoporosis International. All 40 Springer medical titles are new to ProQuest. Along with Springer titles added earlier this year, the new agreement brings the total of Springer medical titles in ProQuest to more than 60.

Key Hodder Arnold titles include: Lupus, Multiple Sclerosis, Palliative Medicine, and Human and Experimental Toxicology. Top Mary Ann Liebert titles include: Journal of Neurotrauma, Tissue Engineering, and Microbial Drug Resistance: Mechanisms, Epidemiology, and Disease.  The Wiley titles include Reviews in Medical Virology , Journal of Gene Medicine , and Human Mutation. All of the titles are new to ProQuest.

The agreement also includes 17 other journals from Hodder Arnold that will appear in ProQuest Research Library™, the ABI/INFORM® suite of business databases, and PCI Full Text™.
