CAMBRIDGE, United Kingdom, April 5, 2004 - As of this month, ProQuest
Information and Learning has been chosen as the sole distributor of the
British National Bibliography on CD-ROM (BNB), for the UK and International
markets. Chosen for their expertise in customer service and respected
position in the market, ProQuest Information and Learning are delighted
with the addition of this collection to its existing portfolio of national
bibliographies. Over the last 15 years, ProQuest and the British Library have built a very strong relationship, and this distribution arrangement will allow the British Library to concentrate on the development of their own collections, whilst receiving full support from ProQuest for the BNB. The BNB’s Current File contains all records from 1986 to the present day on just one CD. Published monthly, this collection allows users to identify titles, answer queries and keep up to date with current awareness searches. This interactive tool allows learning, research and resource discovery, with the added benefit of Internet access, including the British Library Online Catalogue. For further information about this important new development, or for further information on the BNB resource, please contact Hannah Perrett or go to our website, www.proquest.co.uk About ProQuest More than a content provider or aggregator, ProQuest is an information partner, creating indispensable research solutions that connect people and information. Through innovative, user-centered discovery technology, ProQuest offers billions of pages of global content that includes historical newspapers, dissertations, and uniquely relevant resources for researchers of any age and sophistication—including content not likely to be digitized by others. Inspired by its customers and their end users, ProQuest is working toward a future that blends information accessibility with community to further enhance learning and encourage lifelong enrichment.
