Chief Financial Officer

Since July 2008, Phil Evans has served as the Chief Financial Officer of R.R. Bowker. Prior to joining R.R. Bowker, he was the CFO of Marquis Who’s Who, the privately owned publisher of Who’s Who in America and a series of biographical and topical information directories and databases. Before joining Marquis in 2006, Phil spent sixteen years with the Reed Elsevier organization in various financial roles, beginning in the United Kingdom and culminating in New Providence NJ, via Dayton OH. Phil was the CFO of Martindale-Hubbell, a $200 million division of LexisNexis, from 2001 to 2006 and was responsible for the acquisition and integration of several businesses during his tenure. From 1997 to 2001 Phil served as the Vice President, Financial Planning & Analysis and then the Controller of LexisNexis in Dayton OH. Before joining LexisNexis Phil held several finance positions in the London headquarters of Reed Elsevier, including Corporate Finance Manager and Tax Manager. In his early career Phil trained as a UK chartered accountant and worked for 7 years in public accounting in London, the last four years with Ernst & Young.

Phil is an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and holds a B.A. (Honors) in Accounting & Finance from the University of Lancaster.
